So HO22? After the recent postponement of the air-cooled show at Ninove in Belgium, all hopes are now that Hessisch 2022 finally gets to take place this year! It seems a genuine age since I last was able to go to a decent air-cooled show (for obvious Covid-19 reasons). If there is one show you really want to be able to get to, it’s definitely Hessisch Oldendorf! — As you know, I was really looking forward to Hessisch Oldendorf 2021, but unfortunately due to the Covid-19 pandemic, like a lot of things, it was postponed. Well the good news is that, with all being well, it has now been rescheduled to 2022. …

The weather coming back from Skye through Glencoe and the Highlands of Scotland was non-stop rain. At least it was happening when I was heading back. Weather wise, for the most part, I’d had pretty decent weather whilst exploring the Western Isles, so I cant really complain. It just compounded a slightly flat feeling when you know that your adventure is slowly drawing to a close. — Once again the mile munching T4 ate up the miles with ease. For the first part of the journey back south, I decided to head to the Scotland/England boarder region for the nights stop over. This would be my last stay in Scotland for the trip. Travelling from Lewis from Harris gave me the perfect opportunity to explore some more of the island on my Western Isles road trip. One of the many things that I have fallen in love with in the Outer Hebrides, is that there always seems to be lots more to explore! — Lewis might have been today’s destination, but as always, the journey itself is just as important. There are still plenty of opportunities to make the most of every mile travelled. Its not everyday you get to experience this kind of rugged beauty!

After a restful night at Berneray beach, it was lovely to wake with the sun and hear the gentle sounds of the waves lapping up upon the white sand beach when I opened the van door in the morning. Always a great back drop for my early morning breakfast by the sea. My plan for today was to head to Berneray ferry port this morning and see if there was space for the crossing back to Leverburgh on South Harris.
